Crowned reindeer antlers

Porot pudottavat sarvensa joka vuosi. Urosporot pudottavat talvella, naarasporot sen jälkeen kun ovat vasoneet, eli toukokuussa. Kruunulliset poronsarvet ovat sellaisia, joissa on sarven kiinnityskohta tallella, eli sitä sanotaan kruunuksi. Nämä on kerätty poroaidasta sarvien pudottua luonnollisesti.

Reindeer shed their antlers every year. Males shed theirs in winter, while females shed theirs after calving—that is, in May. "Crowned" reindeer antlers are those that retain the base where the antler attaches to the head, known as the crown. These have been collected from reindeer enclosures after the antlers fell off naturally.
